Welcome Good Times Sportfishing!
November 16, 2008
My mate and I decided to treat ourselves to a Salmon River
fishing trip now that our lake season is over. Neither one
of us has fished the Salmon River or in a drift boat.
We fished with Shane Thomas the "Salmon
River Guide". Shane did an awesome job at putting
us on fish all morning. We fished for steelhead and what a
treat with them doing jumps and back flips. I will certainly
do it again.

November 2, 2008
I was at the lake on Nov. 1st, a nice sunny day with
a cool breeze out of the North. Looking at the lake brought
back some fond memories from the summer of 2008, it was a
big year starting out with a new boat and meeting
a lot of new people. We hope to see you back in 2009. We
are working on our shows dates. We will keep you up to
date as they are confirmed. We now have our 2009 brochure
and business cards done. WOW! did they turn out nice. Email
me with your address to get your copy. The "PHOTO
ALBUM" is now up to date, be sure to play a slide
show of all the months. DON'T forget we have an early
bird discount for Salmon and a Brown Trout double
discount for trips booked until Chrismas. We have certificates
available which makes an excellent Christmas gift.

The 2008 fishing season for Lake Ontario is over and we
now start looking forward to April 2009 and Brown Trout season.

"Good Times III". Be sure and go through the
"photo
album" to see the pictures from this year. September's
pictures will be added very soon to bring the entire
year up to date.
We now begin preparation of the 2009 brochure and plan what outdoor
shows we will be attending. We will post the shows under
"2009 fishing reports" beginning in late December
2008. Come back often to check these reports. We will be at
the Bradford County Outdoor Show in Bradford, PA in February
2009, as well as the Scranton, PA 6th Sportmans Show @ St
Mary's Center in Scranton sometime in March 2009.
Now is the time to get the 2009 calender out & pick the
dates you would like to fish, then CALL to lock in your dates
for next year. CALL 607-768-9121, there is an early bird

As the season winds down be sure to check the " Photo
Album" section of my web site to see if your favorite
picture is there. If I missed one please call me to let me
know. This will allow me to find it and get it posted.
It was very difficult finding fish on Saturday after so many
ran the river. However by the evening we found them in 85'
to 93' off rainbow shores. We started there Sunday morning
down 75' to 85' finding quite a mix of fish. We caught
Brown Trout, Coho Salmon as well as Mr. King himself, a great
day on the water with a very nice group of people from PA.
The lures were my favorite glow chicken wing, along with
e-chips in a chrome, green & frog pattern all with the
a-tom-mik hammer fly. If you cannot it make to the lake &
would like to fish the famous Salmon River, call me for a
referral. Now is the time to start planning next years Brown
Trout fishing trip for the spring and summer '09.
Ask about our early bird discount. Call NOW 607-768-9121.

September 7, 2008
King Salmon fishing has been very good this past week. The
Coho's are also in the mix now. The best depth was 70'
to 90' fow
down 60' to 80'. We started having hits on j plugs,
however the main bite was on flasher & flies & glow
spoons before daylight.
Our glow chicken wing took the first fish every morning. The
dipsy worked well this week out 180' to 230'. We still
have some good dates
available. Now is the time to start planning next years Brown
Trout trip for the spring & summer '09. Ask about
our early bird discount.
Call NOW 607-768-9121.

We've
been at the lake doing trips every day for 2 weeks and unable
to do my report. This will catch us up. The big king salmon
are here in good numbers. We're getting some nice catches
on most days. The Salmon have been hitting glow spoons hard
before day light along with glow spin doctors with flies.
As the light increases the spoon hits decrease. The Salmon
have been in the 50 to 75' range with our lures down 40
to 60'. Over the next 2 weeks we will see them move into
the 20 to 40'. We still have a few good dates open, you
need to hurry before its over. CALL today to book your trip
of a life time.

August 18, 2008
Good news the adult salmon are here, yes there
finally here bigger than we've seen in a couple years.
We picked at them thursday and friday. No pictures the camera
is in the boat. Did not fish saturday or sunday the winds
blew 25 to 30 mph with 6 to 8' seas. The lures were
mainly e-chips, chartreuse with a mirage fly, chrome with
a sweet pea fly and early morning green with a green glow
fly. Most of the fish came on a dipsy out 280'. We still
have some good dates available. Call soon the season is
going fast. Remember the LOC derby is on thru Labor day
$ 20,000. to win.
August 12, 2008
King Salmon are starting to show up. While fishing
for brown trout in 115' we hooked up with a nice King.
This King wanted no part of our party. He just ripped line
out of the reel. The client put him away nicely. Thirty minutes
later another King, even bigger! Needless to say everyone
was very happy. We did very well with the browns this week
in 110' to 115' fow, down 94' to 104' on a
mix of spoons, glow frog, yellow killer, also a new spoon
"mongoose". One of the Salmon came on the mongoose,
the other came on a chartreuse spin doctor and a mirage a-tom-mik
fly.

August 2, 2008
We fished with 2 nice groups from PA. We fished for browns
near nine mile in 90 to 105' down 82'. The browns
were hitting stinger spoons hard. The dipsy with a glow frog
was by far the rod of the day, other spoons were glow chicken
wing & perch, the yellow killer took a couple off the
downriggers. The west wind continues to blow & keeps the
salmon out in deep water as well as scattered. We're hoping
this weekend brings a few in closer. We still have some good
dates available, call soon to get the date of your choice.

July 24, 2008
We had another nice family trip. With 2 young lady that were
a lot of fun, when the fishing got slow they would do a fish
cheer dance that worked well. We Fished 70 to 90' down
near the bottom with stinger spoons, black widow, chicken
wing, yellow killer. The salmon are still out deep, we're
hoping they get here soon, the brown trout fishing remains
good & we will continue to target them.

July 22, 2008
Brown Trout fishing continues to be good at the 80 to 90'
range off the south dune & also in Mexico Bay. Salmon
continue to be deep in the 175 to 200' range. We are expecting
to start hitting salmon pretty good this weekend. We will
be fishing the Little Salmon River Challenge derby on Saturday.
It will take a nice box of salmon to win, however a few browns
will help. Wish us luck. We still have some good dates available,
call soon. The season will be over before you know it!

July 4 & 5, 2008
We worked on equipment & managed to catch
a nice brown trout. Salmon are now being caught in 200'
of water.
We only have July 19 & 20 open for weekend dates. However
we have quite a few weekdays open & August is getting
really booked,
contact us soon to get the dates you would like.

June 28 & 29, 2008
The lake continues to produce some nice fish. 3 trips this
weekend with varing results. Saturday evening was by far the
best with a nice catch of brown. 50 to 60' of water mostly
a stinger spoon bite, hammer, chicken wing & rosemary's
baby. Sunday we fought a lot of debris in the water, however
we did ok considering.

June 21, 2008
In the morning we started in Mexico bay and we trolled to
no avail. There should have been fish here. We fished from
30 to 70 feet without marking fish. In the late afternoon
we moved north to rainbow shores and finally found some marks
on our fish finder. Shortly thereafter "fish on".
This is what we were looking for, a starting spot for Sunday
morning. My friends wife pulled it in like a pro, she has
fished aboard the Good Times twice and now landed fish each
time.
June 22, 2008
As we decided Saturday we went North. The right move at
the right time, North was the place to be. Starting off with
what seemed to be a good menu "NOT", the scramble
was on-what do these bad boys want today? Stinger spoons,
chicken wing, hammer,
and blue NBK. The fish came mostly at 32 & 42 feet on
the rigger with one coming on the dipsy, a number 2 setting
out 102 feet over
50 to 70 feet of water.
Important note: We can take care of large groups by using
mutiple boats from our charter fleet. Dates are starting to
fill up, however we
still have some good Brown Trout dates available. The Salmon
are moving in, however still in deep water. Make sure you
get the dates you want. Act now! Call for your reservation.

June 15, 2008
Another nice day on the lake, almost
flat. The fish were scattered from heavy pressure on Saturday.
We hit 5 for 5 in the 25' to 35' range. The fishing
should improve as the lake thermoclines set up & the bait
moves in. Last year some of our best Brown fishing came in
late June & early July. We have some good dates available
for Browns & Salmon call early to get the dates you would
like.
June 13, 2008
After seeing DEC stock some 3 or 4 inch
salmon thursday I decided to start close to the Salmon River.
I assumed the Brown's would be feeding on these minnows.
They were in there even though the water temp was 61.7. We
had a great day for hookups 13 in total.

June 6, 2008
A beautiful day for fishing. The lake was calm with
water temperatures still cold, however warmer than last week.
Fished in 10 foot of water. These 2 very nice browns came
near Rainbow Shores. With the hot days and nights the water
will warm and the fish will move out into deeper water. Fishing
is improving daily. We have good dates available. Please call
Captain George at (607)-768-9121.
May 29, 2008
